Go Outside to Go Within.

Our mission is simple: help more people experience wild places and heal in the process. By removing barriers to the outdoors, we create space for nature to affect us and for people to reconnect with the resilience they already carry.

The Mission

Trailbound Yoga empowers explorers—especially those from underrepresented communities—to navigate both the wilderness and their inner landscapes. In the backcountry, we learn to move through unpredictable terrain. On the mat, we learn to steady an unpredictable mind. Yogapacking bridges the two.

By integrating backcountry education with mindful movement, we equip you to regulate your nervous system, cultivate self-sufficiency, and build a lasting, reverent connection to the natural world.

Women Owned & Operated

Trailbound Yoga is dedicated to breaking down barriers between the trail and the mat. We foster a safe, inclusive community where every explorer is treated with kindness and respect.

While the backcountry has traditionally been male-dominated, we are changing the narrative. By addressing common hurdles—like high gear costs, safety concerns, and the difficulty of finding a community—we empower newcomers to venture into the wild with confidence.

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to discover their inner strength in nature. Our vision is to make the outdoors accessible to all, creating space for individuals of every background, race, gender, and socioeconomic status to explore.

Rooted in Education and Stewardship

We don’t just guide; we teach. Every retreat is a live backpacking 101 class where you’ll learn trip safety & essentials, gear, route planning, and Leave No Trace principles. Beyond skills, we practice active stewardship—learning the ecology and history of the land to ensure we leave wild spaces better than we found them.

Inclusive Yoga Practice

Yoga is how you show up in the world, discover purpose, and navigate life's challenges. Every retreat weaves this philosophy into daily life, offering real-world opportunities to practice well beyond the mat.

We view yoga as a holistic path for physical, mental, and spiritual growth. Following Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras (1.2), we define yoga as "the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind." We embrace this stilling of the mind through pranayama (breathwork), dhyana (meditation), and asana (postures), all heightened by the transformative power of the wild.

No prior experience is required. We invite you to show up as you are with a sense of curiosity. Our practice is intentionally tailored to the individual; because our trips are active and strenuous, yoga is always modified to match the environment and your energy levels, ensuring a balanced, accessible experience for everyone.

Land Acknowledgment

We, Trailbound Yoga, respectfully acknowledge that the land we occupy is unceded territory of the Kumeyaay Nation. We honor these tribes and the land with gratitude.
